To improve practicality in saving power of a movement support device.SOLUTION: A movement support device 10 includes a boot unit 60 inside a white stick held by a user. The boot unit 60 includes a power generation unit 63 that has a spring-mass system resonating with sound generated by a vehicle, and generates power with resonance of the spring-mass system. In a state where the spring-mass system does not resonate, a power mode of the movement support device 10 becomes a power saving mode. When the vehicle approaches the user, the spring-mass system resonates with sound generated by the vehicle, and the power generation unit 63 generates power. The power generation is detected by a current sensor 64, the power mode of the movement support device 10 is switched from the power saving mode to a normal mode, and the movement support device 10 is activated to be in a state in which movement support operation can be performed. In this way, it is possible to reduce an amount of power consumption by being switched to the power saving mode in a situation in which no movement support operation is necessary while the movement support operation is enabled by being switched to the normal mode as needed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】移動支援装置の省電力化を図る上での実用性を高める。【解決手段】ユーザが把持する白杖の内部に起動ユニット60を備えさせる。起動ユニット60は、車両が発する音に共振するバネマス系を有すると共に、バネマス系の共振に伴って発電する発電ユニット63を備える。バネマス系が共振していない状態では移動支援装置10の電力モードは省電力モードとなる。ユーザに車両が接近すると、該車両が発する音にバネマス系が共振し、発電ユニット63が発電を行う。その発電を電流センサ64によって検知し、移動支援装置10の電力モードが省電力モードから通常モードに切り替えられ、移動支援装置10を起動させて移動支援動作が可能な状態となる。これにより、必要に応じて通常モードとなって移動支援動作を可能にしながらも、移動支援動作が不要な状況では省電力モードとなることで電力消費量を削減できる。【選択図】図3
