To appropriately execute ACC even when a vehicle height is set higher than a normal height.SOLUTION: A drive assistance device includes: an ambient sensor 11 that acquires, as ambient information, other vehicles existing in front of a vehicle and a division line extending in front of the vehicle; and a control unit 10 that, when it is determined based on the ambient information that there is a preceding vehicle, executes adaptive cruise control (ACC) in which acceleration control or deceleration control is executed so that an inter-vehicle distance from the preceding vehicle becomes equal to a predetermined target inter-vehicle distance that increases with a speed increase of the vehicle and that, when a vehicle height of the vehicle is higher than a normal time due to a vehicle height adjustment and the ACC is started or is being executed, a target inter-vehicle distance for stop, which is the target inter-vehicle distance when the vehicle stops, is made longer than that used when the vehicle height is the normal height.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
