To provide a battery case which flexibly deals with the size of a gap inevitably occurring in a butted part between a frame-like part and a cross member to enable joint of the members and which is light-weight and achieves high rigidity.SOLUTION: A battery case 10 includes: a rectangular frame-like part 11; cross members 20 each extending toward a pair of wall surfaces 12a, which are parallel to each other, of the frame-like part 11; joint auxiliary members 30 each of which joins at least an end surface 27 of the cross member 20 to the wall surface 12a; and a floor-like part 15 which is connected to the frame-like part 11 and forms a floor surface, and these members are formed of aluminum or aluminum alloy. Further, the joint auxiliary member 30 is fitted in the cross member 20 in a manner that the joint auxiliary member 30 can slide relative to the cross member 20 in a longitudinal direction.
