To provide a ship direction control device, a ship direction control method, and a program capable of suppressing azimuth overshoot of a propulsion direction controller.SOLUTION: A ship direction control device comprises a difference calculation unit, a calculation unit to determine a target value of a hydraulic control valve opening based on the difference, a correction unit, and a command unit to command the target value of the corrected opening to the hydraulic control valve, where the difference calculation unit calculates the difference between the target value and the measured value of the azimuth angle of the propulsion direction controller for controlling an own azimuth angle by turning with oil pressure output from the hydraulic controller, and the correction unit corrects the target value of the hydraulic control valve opening based on at least one of the oil input into the hydraulic control valve or the oil pressure and temperature output from the hydraulic control valve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
