To improve the reliability of a level crossing obstacle detection system.SOLUTION: A laser radar unit 25 is installed at a level crossing 10 which includes a light emitting part 46 for emitting laser light and a light receiving part 47 for receiving reflected light of the laser light having been reflected by an object. The laser radar unit 25 is configured so as to be supported by a laser unit strut 21 so that it is located upward of an obstacle detection area DE at the level crossing 10 and so that the detection area DE is irradiated with laser light from above. In a control device 60 that constitutes a level crossing obstacle detection system 18 together with the laser radar unit 25, an obstacle located in the detection area DE is detected on the basis of a measurement result that indicates the distance to the object that reflected laser light and the angle of irradiation. A change of the position and/or bearing of the laser radar unit 25 is monitored on the basis of the result of measurement by the laser radar unit 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】踏切障害物検知システムの信頼性を向上させること。【解決手段】踏切10には、レーザ光を出力する発光部46及び物体により反射されたレーザ光である反射光を受光する受光部47を有するレーザレーダユニット25が設置されている。レーザレーダユニット25は、踏切10における障害物の検知エリアDEよりも上側に位置するようにしてレーザユニット用支柱21により支持され、レーザ光が検知エリアDEに上方から照射されるように構成されている。レーザレーダユニット25とともに踏切障害物検知システム18を構築する制御装置60においては、レーザ光を反射した対象までの距離及び照射角度を示す測定結果に基づいて検知エリアDEに位置する障害物を検知する。レーザレーダユニット25による測定結果に基づいて、当該レーザレーダユニット25の位置及び向きの少なくとも一方の変化が監視される。【選択図】 図2
