To enable appropriate merging assistance in a traffic communication system.SOLUTION: A radio roadside machine comprises: a radio communication unit that performs road-to-vehicle communication; and a control unit that generates a merging assistance message including position and speed information for each detected vehicle when a main lane vehicle traveling on a main lane and a merging vehicle traveling on a merging traffic lane have been detected. The radio communication unit broadcasts the merging assistance message to the main lane vehicle and the merging vehicle. The control unit generates a merging assistance message further including a merging vehicle flag indicating whether or not each detected vehicle is a merging vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】交通通信システムにおいて適切な合流支援を行うことを可能とする。【解決手段】無線路側機は、路車間通信を行う無線通信部と、本線車線を走行する本線車両及び合流車線を走行する合流車両が検知された場合、検知された車両ごとの位置・速度情報を含む合流支援メッセージを生成する制御部と、を備える。前記無線通信部は、前記本線車両及び前記合流車両に対して前記合流支援メッセージをブロードキャストする。前記制御部は、前記検知された車両ごとに当該車両が前記合流車両であるか否かを示す合流車両フラグをさらに含む前記合流支援メッセージを生成する。【選択図】図5
