To provide a shock absorbing member for a vehicle body frame which is capable of increasing load resistance when the same receives shock from a back and forth direction of a vehicle body and crushes compressively, a securing freedom degree when a component is fitted to an external surface, has high productivity, is lightweight, and is capable of controlling a deformation mode while crushing compressively.SOLUTION: In a shock absorbing member 9 for a vehicle body frame 1, two closed cross-sectional members 10 extending in a back and forth direction of a vehicle body are arranged in adjacency in a vehicle width direction, the closed cross-sectional members 10 are welded to each other and integrated in a state that the surfaces 10a of both the closed cross-sectional members 10 are abutted to each other. In an abutment part 10b on a side surface 10a of the closed cross-sectional members 10 which is invisible from outside after the closed cross-sectional members 10 are welded, a fragile part 13 composed of at least either a hole 11 to be a start point of deformation or a recess 12 when load is received from a back and forth direction of the vehicle body is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】車体の前後方向から衝撃を受けて軸圧壊する際の耐荷重を増大でき、外面に部品を取り付ける際の自由度を確保でき、生産性が高く、軽量で、軸圧壊するときの変形モードを制御できる車体フレーム用の衝撃吸収部材を提供する。【解決手段】車体の前後方向に延びる閉断面部材10が二本車幅方向に隣接配置され、双方の閉断面部材10の側面10aが付き合わせられた状態で、閉断面部材10同士が溶接されて一体化された車体フレーム1用の衝撃吸収部材9であって、閉断面部材10同士が溶接された後には外から見えなくなる閉断面部材10の側面10aの突き合わせ部10bに、車体の前後方向から荷重を受けた際に変形の起点となる孔11および凹部12の少なくとも一方から成る脆弱部13が形成されている。【選択図】図4
