The housing 106 includes an image display device 1, a beam splitter (polarization separation member) 101, a retroreflection member 2 and a phase difference plate (λ/4 plate 21), and a planar mirror 4. The spatial floating image display device reflects image light having a specific polarization from the image display device 1 with the planar mirror 4, reflects the light with the beam splitter 101, transmits, with the beam splitter 101, the image light reflected by the retroreflection member 2 and polarization-converted through the phase difference plate, and displays a spatial floating image 3 to the outside with the image light transmitted through a window part 605.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6F
