To provide a forklift control device capable of accurately detecting obstacles and people without limiting a detection range when controlling a forklift and performing load scooping works.SOLUTION: A forklift control device is mounted on a forklift which runs by driving wheels with a motor and performing load scooping works with the fork installed in front of forklift. The forklift control device comprises a torque detector to detect torque changing amount of the motor, and a control part to detect the obstacles in front of the forklift based on the torque changing amount detected by the torque detector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
