To enhance detection accuracy of a continuous misfire in an internal combustion engine dedicated to electric power generation, which is mounted on a hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: An engine misfire detection device is mounted on a hybrid vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine and a power generator. The internal combustion engine has a plurality of cylinders and a crank shaft, and is dedicated to electric power generation. The power generator is connected to the crank shaft via a torsional damper. The engine misfire detection device includes a power generator rotation angle sensor and a processor. The power generator rotation angle sensor detects a rotation angle of a power generator rotation shaft. The processor executes misfire detection processing for detecting a misfire in the internal combustion engine. The misfire detection processing includes first misfire detection processing for determining that a misfire occurs in the internal combustion engine when an amplitude correlation value, which correlates with the magnitude of amplitude of a rotation speed of the power generator rotation shaft and is detected by the power generator rotation angle sensor, is larger than a determination threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ハイブリッド車両に搭載された発電専用の内燃機関の連続失火の検出精度を高められるようにする。【解決手段】エンジン失火検出装置は、内燃機関と発電機とを備えるハイブリッド車両に搭載されている。内燃機関は、複数の気筒とクランク軸とを有し、発電専用である。発電機は、トーショナルダンパを介してクランク軸と連結されている。エンジン失火検出装置は、発電機回転角センサとプロセッサとを備える。発電機回転角センサは、発電機回転軸の回転角を検出する。プロセッサは、内燃機関の失火を検出する失火検出処理を実行する。失火検出処理は、発電機回転軸の回転速度の振幅の大きさに相関し且つ発電機回転角センサを用いて検出される振幅相関値が判定閾値よりも大きい場合に、内燃機関に失火が生じたと判定する第1失火検出処理を含む。【選択図】図1
