To provide a vehicular drive system using a traveling motor in which the output of the motor is increased and a problem of a traveling distance is solved, while suppressing increases in vehicle weight and costs.SOLUTION: With batteries Batt1 and Batt2 connected in series, a connection node is grounded. An inverter 15a is controlled in operation so as to make motor drive voltage higher than the output voltage of each battery Batt1, Batt2. A battery portion 18 is configured so that batteries Batt3 and Batt4 formed into cartridges can be attached and detached. The installed battery Batt3 is connected with the battery Batt1 in parallel, and the installed battery Batt4 is connected with the battery Batt 2 in parallel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
