To reduce power consumed by an electric brake system irrespective of whether a brake operation is conducted or not.SOLUTION: A device for controlling an electric brake system includes: a first brake system constituted of a brake ECU 1151 and brake calipers ECU 110, 111, 113; and a second brake system constituted of a brake ECU 1161 and brake calipers ECU 109, 112, 114. The brake ECU 1151 includes a situation determination unit 1152 for controlling whether to turn on or off a power supply for the brake calipers ECU 110, 111, 113 on the basis of vehicle travel information. The brake ECU 1161 includes: a situation determination unit 1162 for controlling whether to turn on or off a power supply for the brake calipers ECU 109, 112, 114 on the basis of vehicle travel information at the time of travelling and brake operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
