To provide a train position detection device which can accurately and stably detect a position of a running train from an image captured by imaging means.SOLUTION: In a train 1, images including point information display parts preliminarily captured at a plurality of positions along a train line and image information including position information at the time of capturing the images are stored in an information storage unit 7 of an onboard device 3. A prescribed area including a point information display part is extracted from an image captured during travel of the train, and image specific information including at least color information is recognized in the prescribed area. An image determination unit 9 compares the image specific information recognized by an image determination unit 8 and image specific information of an image stored in the information storage unit 7 with each other to determine whether they are identical or not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】撮像手段によって取得した画像から列車の走行位置を精度よく、かつ安定して検知できる列車位置検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】列車において、射場装置3の情報記憶部7には、線区に沿って複数の位置で予め撮影した地点情報表示部を含む画像と、撮影時の位置情報とを有する画像情報とが格納されている。列車1の走行中に撮影した画像中で、地点情報表示部を含む所定エリアを抽出し、その中で少なくとも色情報を含む画像特定情報を認識する。画像判定部9は、画像判定部8で認識した画像特定情報と、情報記憶部7に記憶されている画像の画像特定情報とを比較して、両者が一致しているかどうか判定する。【選択図】図3
