To provide a vehicle strength member such as a roof center provided with break parts at a plurality of points in the lengthwise direction thereof, capable of suppressing spring-back during press-molding by improving surface rigidity of a portion including the break parts.SOLUTION: A roof center 3 is configured such that a lengthwise plate member is formed into a hat shape in a cross section, to have a projection part 12 extending in the lengthwise direction on both sides of a hat-shaped top plate 10 thereof by providing a recess part 11 extending in the lengthwise direction at the center of the hat-shaped top plate 10, and to curve in the lengthwise direction as the whole by providing, in the lengthwise direction, a plurality of break parts 15 bent by a break line extending in the short-side direction. At a portion corresponding to each of the break parts 15, there is provided a projection bead 17 projecting in the same direction with the projection direction of the projection part 12 and extending in the short-side direction in the recess part 11 and both ends of each of the projection beads 17 are connected to the side part of the projection part 12 to be integrated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】長手方向の複数箇所に折れ部を備えるルーフセンタ等の車両用強度部材において、折れ部を含む部位の面剛性を高めることにより、プレス成形時のスプリングバックを抑制する。【解決手段】長尺の板材を断面ハット形状に形成されており、そのハット形状の天板10中央に長手方向に延びる凹部11を備えることによってハット形状の天板10両側に長手方向に延びる突条12を備え、短手方向に延びる折れ線によって屈曲された折れ部15を長手方向に複数備えて、全体として長手方向に湾曲されているルーフセンタ3であって、各折れ部15と対応する部位に、突条12の突出方向と同方向に突出して、凹部11内で短手方向に延びる凸ビード17を備え、凸ビード17の両端は、突条12の側部に結合されて一体化されている。【選択図】図2
