To provide an on-vehicle camera device capable of estimating a temperature of a component mounted on a location away from a temperature sensor.SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 6 is installed so as to measure a temperature of an area around an image processing section 4 performing object recognition through processing images taken with a lens 2 and an imaging element 3 of an on-vehicle camera device 1. When estimating the temperature of the lens 2 which is a protection object component installed at a position away from the temperature sensor 6 with a lens temperature estimation section 7, an index representing a solar insolation state of the surroundings of a vehicle on which the on-vehicle camera device 1 is mounted is separately obtained. Then, the temperature of the lens 2 is estimated on the basis of the temperature measured through the temperature sensor 6 and the index representing the solar insolation state of the surroundings of the vehicle. A camera unit control section 5 controls power supply to an image processing section 4 on the basis of the estimated temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】温度センサから離れた位置に実装された部品であっても、その温度を推定できる車載カメラ装置を得る。【解決手段】車載カメラ装置1のレンズ2および撮像素子3で撮像された画像を処理して、物体認識を行う画像処理部4の近傍の温度を測定するように温度センサ6が設置され、この温度センサ6から離れた位置に設置された保護対象部品であるレンズ2の温度を、レンズ温度推定部7により推定するに当たり、車載カメラ装置1が搭載される車両周囲の日射状態を示す指標を別途取得して、温度センサ6の測温値と、車両周囲の日射状態を示す指標とに基づき、レンズ2の温度を推定するようにし、推定された温度に応じて、カメラユニット制御部5が、画像処理部4の電源制御を行うようにした。【選択図】図1
