To provide a wheel bearing device which can prevent falling of a wheel during attachment of the wheel and enables work, in which the wheel is fixed to a flange part by bolts, to be performed easily, and to provide a wheel attachment method.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing device 1 includes: an inner member 2 attached with a wheel 80 having a supported part 81 provided with a center hole 800; an outer member 3 fixed to a knuckle 91; and rolling elements 41. The inner member 2 has: a flange part 22 for fixing the supported part 81; and a support part 23 which is fitted in the center hole 800 and supports the supported part 81. The support part 23 has: a cylindrical part 231 having an outer peripheral surface 231a which is fitted in an inner peripheral surface 800a of the center hole 800; and a protruding part 232 protruding from the cylindrical part 231 to the radial outer side. In the wheel 80, the supported part 81 is disposed at an axial position between the flange part 22 and the protruding part 232 and a portion, in which a recessed part 801 is not formed, of the supported part 81 is engaged with the protruding part 232 to be prevented from removing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】車輪の取付時における車輪の脱落を防ぐと共に、車輪をボルトによってフランジ部に固定する作業を容易に行うことが可能な車輪用軸受装置及び車輪の取付方法を提供する。【解決手段】車輪用軸受装置1は、中心孔800が形成された被支持部81を有するホイール80が取り付けられる内方部材2と、ナックル91に固定される外方部材3と、複数の転動体41とを備える。内方部材2は、被支持部81を固定するためのフランジ部22と、中心孔800に嵌合して被支持部81を支持する支持部23とを有する。支持部23は、中心孔800の内周面800aに嵌合する外周面231aを有する円筒部231と、円筒部231から径方向外方に突出した凸部232とを有する。ホイール80は、被支持部81がフランジ部22と凸部232との間の軸方向位置に配置され、被支持部81の凹部801が形成されていない部位が凸部232によって係止されて抜け止めされる。【選択図】図1
