To provide a vehicle safety assist system and a vehicle safety assist method capable of assisting prevention of collision with an object around a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle safety assist system 100 comprises a sensor information acquisition section 31, a tire force calculation section 32, a distance correction section 33 and a speed calculation section 34. The sensor information acquisition section 31 acquires a tire physical amount measured through a sensor 20 arranged on a tire 10. The tire force calculation section 32 calculates tire force F and a maximum friction coefficient between the tire 10 and a road surface by inputting the tire physical amount into a calculation model 32a. The distance correction section 33 corrects a distance between a surrounding object identified through an external sensor 50 and the distance correction section on the basis of reliability of the external sensor 50. The speed calculation section 34 calculates a safe travel speed enabling a vehicle to perform sudden braking or an avoidance maneuver with respect to the surrounding object present in the distance corrected with the distance correction section 33 on the basis of the tire force F and the maximum friction coefficient.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
