To provide an automatic braking device for a vehicle that executes braking control for suppressing vehicle deflection and enables easy adaptation of the braking control.SOLUTION: An automatic braking device for a vehicle executes deflection suppression control for suppressing deflection of the vehicle that is being braked by adjusting braking force Fx of each wheel WH. In the automatic braking device for the vehicle, a threshold value Hx for starting the deflection suppression control is determined on the basis of vehicle body speed Vx and deceleration Ga. Specifically, in the automatic braking device for the vehicle, deflection amount Hn indicating a deflection degree of the vehicle is calculated on the basis of at least one of lateral acceleration Gy and a yaw rate Yr, and when the deflection amount Hn reaches the threshold value Hx or greater, the deflection suppression control is started.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
