To provide a technique that reduces the number of transmitters installed along a walk path and, while so doing, provides pedestrians with effective guidance information.SOLUTION: A pedestrian guidance system comprises: a plurality of transmitters 30 installed respectively at a plurality of branch points on a walk path; a user terminal 90 which is a communication terminal of a pedestrian and capable of receiving a signal from each transmitter by a short distance wireless system; and a management server capable of communicating with the user terminal. When an identification signal is received from one of the transmitters 30, the user terminal 90 converts the identification signal into a transmitter ID, converts the transmitter ID into a branch point ID, and thereby specifies a physical position of the current branch point. The user terminal 90 further receives map data from the management server, and displays, on its screen, partial map data, out of the received map data, that covers the physical position of the branch point, together with a mark that indicates a correct course for arriving at the destination of the pedestrian.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18

    【課題】歩行経路に沿って設置される発信機の数を削減しつつ、有効な案内情報を歩行者に提供する技術を提供する。【解決手段】歩行者案内システムは、歩行経路における複数の分岐点にそれぞれ設置された複数の発信機30と、歩行者の通信端末であるユーザ端末90であって各発信機からの信号を近距離無線方式で受信可能であるものと、そのユーザ端末と通信可能な管理サーバとを含む。ユーザ端末90は、いずれかの発信機30から識別信号を受信すると、その識別信号を発信機IDに変換し、その発信機IDを分岐点IDに変換し、それにより、今回の分岐点の地理的位置を特定し、前記管理サーバから地図データを受信し、その地図データのうち、前記分岐点の地理的位置をカバーする部分地図データを、前記歩行者の目的地に到達するための正しい進路を表すマークと共にユーザ端末90の画面上に表示する。【選択図】図18
