To provide a technique that increases the possibility of implementing useful route guidance for users.SOLUTION: A pedestrian navigation system includes: a route acquisition unit that acquires a route consisting of multiple sections; and a guidance determination unit that determines a section to be a guidance target on the route by setting one of the multiple sections as a section of interest and by changing the section of interest in order. When a length of a subsequent section following the section of interest is greater than a threshold, the guidance determination unit determines the subsequent section to be the guidance target if it is satisfied that at least an angle between the section of interest and the subsequent section exceeds a predetermined range or a guidance object is included in the subsequent section. When the length of the subsequent section is less than or equal to the threshold, the guidance determination unit does not determine the subsequent section to be the guidance target if the guidance object does not exist in the subsequent section, and determines the subsequent section to be the guidance target if the guidance object exists in the subsequent section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
