To appropriately determine the presence/absence of a traffic obstacle and its location while suppressing increase in a processing load of each vehicle.SOLUTION: A base station to be used for a traffic communication system comprises a communication unit which receives information transmitted from a vehicle travelling on a road through wireless communication, and a control unit which identifies a travel behavior including a traveling course of the vehicle on the road based on the information received by the communication unit. The control unit executes first processing for performing statistic or machine learning upon the travel behavior which is identified for each of a plurality of vehicles travelling on the road and second processing for determining the presence/absence of a traffic obstacle on the road and a location of the traffic obstacle based on a result of the first processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5

    【課題】各車両の処理負荷の増大を抑制しつつ、交通障害物の有無及びその位置について適切な判定を行う。【解決手段】交通通信システムに用いる基地局は、道路上を走行する車両から送信される情報を無線通信により受信する通信部と、前記通信部が受信する前記情報に基づいて、前記道路における前記車両の走行経路を含む走行挙動を特定する制御部とを備える。前記制御部は、前記道路上を走行する複数の車両のそれぞれについて特定された前記走行挙動に対して統計又は機械学習を行う第1処理と、前記第1処理の結果に基づいて、前記道路上の交通障害物の有無及び前記交通障害物の位置について判定する第2処理とを実行する。【選択図】図5
