To provide a vehicle-height control device and a vehicle-height control method which can reduce loads on suspension parts even if a vehicle stops on an irregular-ground road surface.SOLUTION: A vehicle-height control device 100 comprises: a vehicle-height sensor 7 that detects heights of axles 10 as vehicle-height values; a pressure sensor 14 that detects inner pressure of an air suspension 4; and a controller 15 that controls supply of air to the air suspension 4 on the basis of detected results by the vehicle-height sensor 7 and the pressure sensor 14. The vehicle-height sensor 7 and the pressure sensor 14 are provided in each of a plurality of axles 10 respectively. The controller 15 determines whether or not a road surface G on which a vehicle 1 is stopping is an irregular-ground road surface on the basis of a difference in vehicle height value between the plurality of axles 10, and when determining that the road surface G is the irregular-ground road surface, sets the air-allowable pressure of the air suspension 4 for the axle whose vehicle-height value is low to be lower in comparison with the air-allowable pressure of the air suspension 4 for the axle whose vehicle-height value is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
