To provide an overload prevention method for a crane that is able to avoid increasing sheaves, and eliminate the need for extra winding work for a sheave dedicated for detecting load on a hoisting wire rope when a crane is installed and the need to lengthen the hoisting wire rope.SOLUTION: An overload prevention method comprises: a load detection step in which a load acting on a sheave of a hoisting wire rope is detected; a jib angle detection step in which an inclination angle of a jib is measured; a work radius calculation step in which a work radius of a jib is obtained based on the inclination angle of the jib; a drawing angle calculation step in which a drawing angle for the hoisting wire rope is obtained based on the inclination angle of the jib; a pull-back angle calculation step in which a pull-back angle for the hoisting wire rope is obtained; an actual load calculation step in which, based on the load, the drawing angle, and the pull-back angle, tension of the hoisting wire rope is obtained as an actual load; a rating load calculation step in which a rating load is obtained based on the work radius; a comparison step in which the actual load is compared with the rating load; and a stop step in which actuation of a crane is stopped if the actual load F exceeds the rating load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】シーブの増加を避け、クレーンの設置時における巻上ワイヤロープの荷重検出専用のシーブに対する余分な掛け回し作業並びに巻上ワイヤロープを長くすることを不要とし得るクレーンの過負荷防止方法を提供する。【解決手段】巻上ワイヤロープのシーブに作用する荷重を計測する荷重検出工程と、ジブの傾斜角度を計測するジブ角度検出工程と、ジブの傾斜角度に基づきジブの作業半径を求める作業半径算出工程と、ジブの傾斜角度に基づき巻上ワイヤロープの繰出角度を求める繰出角度算出工程と、巻上ワイヤロープの引込角度を求める引込角度算出工程と、荷重と繰出角度と引込角度とに基づき巻上ワイヤロープの張力を実荷重として求める実荷重算出工程と、作業半径に基づき定格荷重を求める定格荷重算出工程と、実荷重を定格荷重と比較する比較工程と、実荷重Fが定格荷重を超えている場合クレーンの作動を停止させる停止工程とを含む。【選択図】図1
