To provide a rotation transmission device that has a carburized steel-based outward member capable of withstanding torque transmission via an engager, and in which there is no concern that even if the outer member is magnetized by a magnetic field leaking from a clutch mechanism, it will adversely affect an oil seal.SOLUTION: A shaft 6 that is coaxially and integrally rotatably connected to an outward member 3, is adopted. The shaft 6 is made of a non-magnetic material such as austenitic stainless steel. Consequently, the shaft 6 is prevented from being magnetized when an electromagnet 16 of a clutch mechanism 5 is excited.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
