To provide a pneumatic radial tire which includes a belt cover layer composed of an organic fiber cord, and improves durability while effectively reducing road noise.SOLUTION: A pneumatic radial tire includes a tread part 1, and a carcass layer 4 stretched between a pair of side wall parts 2 and a pair of bead parts 3 and 3, and has a plurality of belt layers 7 arranged on an outer periphery side of the carcass layer 4, and a belt cover layer 8 including a plurality of organic fiber cords spirally wound in a tire circumferential direction arranged on the outer periphery side of the belt layer, in which bending rigidity S of each of the belt layers 7 per a width of 50 mm in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of steel cords 7C that constitute the belt layer 7 and are arranged so as to be inclined in the tire circumferential direction so as to cross each other between the layers is set at 16,500 N mm2/50 mm or less, and the organic fiber cord which constitutes the belt cover layer 8 and has elongation at a load of 2.0 cN/dtex of 2.0-4.0% is spirally wound in the tire circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】有機繊維コードからなるベルトカバー層を備え、ロードノイズを効果的に低減しながら、耐久性を向上した空気入りラジアルタイヤの提供。【解決手段】トレッド部1と一対のサイドウォール部2と一対のビード部3,3間に装架されたカーカス層4を備え、カーカス層4の外周側に複数層のベルト層7と、該ベルト層の外周側にタイヤ周方向に沿って螺旋状に巻回された複数本の有機繊維コードを含むベルトカバー層8が配置された空気入りラジアルタイヤにおいて、ベルト層7を構成する、層間で互いに交差するようにタイヤ周方向に対して傾斜して配列されたスチールコード7Cの長手方向と直交する向きの幅50mm当たりの各ベルト層7の曲げ剛性Sを16500N・mm2/50mm以下に設定し、ベルトカバー層8を構成する、2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが2.0%〜4.0%である有機繊維コードを、タイヤ周方向に沿って螺旋状に巻回する。【選択図】図1
