To provide a motor unit which enables a space in a case to be effectively utilized, and to provide an electric bicycle.SOLUTION: A motor unit 3 includes: a case 4; a motor 5; an input shaft body 60; an input body 7 which rotates integrally with the input shaft body 60; an output body 8; a control board 35; and a rotation detection part 34. The output body 8 is disposed along an outer peripheral surface at the other end side as seen in an axis 600 direction of the input shaft body 60 so as to be rotatable around an axis 600 and receives rotational force from the input shaft body 60. The control board 35 is disposed spaced apart from a wall part 40 at the other end side as seen in the axis 600 direction of the case 4 and controls the motor 5. The rotation detection part 34 has: a detected part 341 which rotates with a rotary shaft unit 30 including the input shaft body 60 and the output body 8; and a detection part 342 which detects rotation of the detected part 341. The detected part 341 is disposed between the control board 35 and the wall part 40 at the other end side or at a position overlapping with the control board 35 in the axis 600 direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】ケース内のスペースを有効に活用しやすいモータユニット及び電動自転車を提供する。【解決手段】モータユニット3は、ケース4と、モータ5と、入力軸体60と、入力軸体60と一体に回転する入力体7と、出力体8と、制御基板35と、回転検出部34と、を備える。出力体8は、入力軸体60の軸線600方向の他端側における外周面に沿って軸線600回りに回転可能に配置され、入力軸体60から回転力を受ける。制御基板35は、ケース4の軸線600方向の他端側の壁部40と間隔をあけて配置され、モータ5を制御する。回転検出部34は、入力軸体60及び出力体8を含む回転軸ユニット30とともに回転する被検出部341と、被検出部341の回転を検出する検出部342と、を有する。被検出部341は、制御基板35と他端側の壁部40との間に配置されるか、又は、軸線600方向において制御基板35と重なる位置に配置される。【選択図】図3
