To provide an autonomous travel type cleaner capable of miniaturizing a wheel unit.SOLUTION: In an autonomous travel type cleaner, wheels 2, 3 rotate by an input of a driving source, and includes a shaft 34 for supporting a load of a vehicle body, and speed reduction mechanisms 33, 35, 36, 37, 38 provided between the shaft 34 and the wheels 2, 3. The speed reduction mechanisms are constituted by a plurality of stages of speed reduction gears 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, they are arranged in a region equal to or less than an outer diameter dimension s3 of the wheels 2, 3 when viewed in a rotary shaft direction of the driving wheels 2, 3 rotated respectively by the drive of each travel motor. When viewed in the frontward/backward direction, part of or all of each of the speed reduction gears 33, 35, 36, 37, 38 constituting the speed reduction mechanism is positioned in a region of a width dimension s4 of the driving wheels 2, 3. The last speed reduction gear 38 reduces speed by the speed reduction gears 35, 36 using an inscribed trochoidal curve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
