To provide a travelable direction detector which can detect a direction in which a vehicle can travel.SOLUTION: The travelable direction detector comprises: a travelability confidence degree calculation unit 31 which, by inputting an image obtained from an imaging unit 2 mounted in a vehicle 10 to a discriminator having prelearned so as to output a travelability confidence degree that represents the likelihood of travelability for each relative direction to a prescribed direction based on the vehicle 10 in accordance with the display state of a traffic signal apparatus, calculates a travelability confidence degree for each relative direction that corresponds to the display state of the traffic signal apparatus shown in the image; and a travelable direction determination unit 32 for determining a direction in which the vehicle can travel, on the basis of the travelability confidence degree for each relative direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
