To provide a vehicle stop support apparatus capable of performing vehicle stop support which more contributes to the rescue of a driver.SOLUTION: A vehicle stop support apparatus 1 comprises: an abnormality detection section 51 for detecting a driver's physical abnormality; a stop point setting section 67 for setting a stop point; and a vehicle control section 68 for controlling a vehicle 2 in such a manner that the vehicle travels to the stop point and stops at the stop point. The stop point setting section 67 calculates, with respect to each stop point candidate, a first index value which increases with an increase in lateral acceleration, a second index value which increases with an increase in rear-end collision risk, a third index value which is determined on the basis of the abnormality detected by the abnormality detection section, and a total index value which is obtained by weighting and summing up the first index value, the second index value, and the third index value, and sets, among a plurality of stop point candidates, such a stop point candidate that the total index value is the smallest, as the stop point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
