To provide a traffic monitoring device for automatically monitoring presence/absence of an abnormality on a road and in a radar when monitoring traffic volume on a road by using a radar.SOLUTION: A traffic monitoring device 3 includes: a target detection section 33 arranged on a road so as to detect multiple targets by discrimination from a road on the basis of Doppler frequencies of radar reflection signals from the multiple targets generating speeds; and a radar abnormality determination section 36 for determining an abnormality in a radar transmitter/receiver 1 and at least one target among the multiple targets, on the basis of a fact that at least one among a radar reception level, a distance and direction from the radar transmitter/receiver, and a Doppler frequency has changed concerning at least one target among the multiple targets from a time when the radar transmitter/receiver and the multiple targets are arranged to a time when the transmitter/receiver and the targets are operated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】レーダを用いて道路上の交通量を監視するにあたり、道路上及びレーダの異常の有無を自動的に監視する交通監視装置を提供する。【解決手段】交通監視装置3は、道路上に設置され速度を発生する複数のターゲットからのレーダ反射信号のドップラ周波数に基づいて、複数のターゲットを道路と区別して検出するターゲット検出部33と、レーダ受信レベルと、レーダ送受信装置1からの距離及び方向と、ドップラ周波数と、のうちの少なくともいずれかが、レーダ送受信装置及び複数のターゲットの設置時から運用時へと、複数のターゲットのうちの少なくとも1個のターゲットについて変化したことに基づいて、レーダ送受信装置及び複数のターゲットのうちの少なくとも1個のターゲットのいずれかが異常であることを判定するレーダ異常判定部36と、を備える。【選択図】図2
