To suppress temperature rise of a rolling bearing device caused by agitation of lubricating oil.SOLUTION: A rolling bearing device 1 comprises a rolling bearing 10 housed in a housing 3 and supporting an axle 2 freely rotatably around a horizontal shaft. A part in a circumferential direction, of an annular space K between an inner ring 11 and an outer ring 12 of the rolling bearing 10 is immersed in lubricating oil in an oil reservoir 4 provided at a lower part in the housing 3. The rolling bearing device 1 further comprises: an annular shielding member 20 of which the outer peripheral side part is fixed to a housing 3, and which covers the annular space K from an axial outside; and an annular seal component member 30 which is fixed to side of the axle 2, and constitutes a labyrinth seal between the member 30 and an inner peripheral side part of the shielding member 20 to thereby suppress inflow of the lubricating oil in the oil reservoir 4 into the annular space K. The shielding member 20 has a through-hole 24 axially penetrating the axle 2 at a portion, the portion being located above an oil level F of the lubricating oil in the oil reservoir 4 while rotation of the axle 2 is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
