To restrain deterioration of an accumulator battery, in a charging method and a charger for charging an electric vehicle by combining a commercial power supply and an accumulator battery.SOLUTION: In a charging method by a charger including an accumulator battery, a connection for connecting an electric vehicle, a switch for switching continuity between a commercial power supply and each accumulator battery and the connection, and a power converter for adjusting the power supply output, i.e., the output of the commercial power supply, and the battery output, i.e., the output of the accumulator battery, a determination is made whether or not the request charge power of an electric vehicle, to be connected with the connection, goes above the power supply output upper limit, and when it goes above the power supply output upper limit, both commercial power supply and accumulator battery are conducted with the connection, and while adjusting the power supply output to the power supply output upper limit, high output charge for outputting shortage of the power supply output for the request charge power from the accumulator battery is executed, and when the request charge power does not go above the power supply output upper limit, normal output charge for adjusting the power supply output by conducting the commercial power supply and the connection but not connecting the accumulator battery and the connection is executed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】商用電源と蓄電池を併用して電動車両に充電を行う充電方法及び充電装置において蓄電池の劣化を抑制すること。【解決手段】蓄電池と、電動車両を接続する接続部と、商用電源及び蓄電池のそれぞれと接続部との間の導通状態を切り替えるスイッチと、商用電源の出力である電源出力及び蓄電池の出力である電池出力を調節する電力変換器と、を備えた充電装置による充電方法であって、接続部に接続される電動車両の要求充電電力が電源出力上限を超えるか否かを判定し、要求充電電力が電源出力上限を超える場合には、商用電源及び蓄電池の双方と接続部を導通させて、電源出力を該電源出力上限に調節しつつ、要求充電電力に対する電源出力の不足分を蓄電池から出力させる高出力充電を実行し、要求充電電力が電源出力上限を超えない場合には、商用電源と接続部を導通させ且つ蓄電池と接続部を導通させず、電源出力を調節する通常出力充電を実行する。【選択図】図1
