To provide a start control device of an internal combustion engine which secures a region where a vehicle travels by only an electric motor without exceeding a rating output of the electric motor, and can improve fuel consumption.SOLUTION: A start control device of an internal combustion engine includes an engine 2, a motor 4, a battery 6 that supplied power to the motor 4, and a control part 9 which re-starts the engine 2 when a request torque set based on vehicle speed and accelerator opening exceeds a re-start threshold, sets a margin torque obtained by subtracting a predetermined margin from the maximum torque capable of being output by the motor 4 as a re-start threshold when dischargeable maximum power is less than predetermined power, and sets a rating torque of the motor 4 as the re-start threshold when the dischargeable maximum power is equal to or more than predetermined power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
