To provide a power converter capable of supplying traveling wind to a wind receiving part effectively and securing cooling performance and the strength of the wind receiving part.SOLUTION: The power converter includes a semiconductor element, a wind receiving part, a pair of air introducing guides, and a pair of flange parts. The semiconductor element can output power for driving a railway vehicle. The wind receiving part is connected to the semiconductor element. The pair of air introducing guides are arranged on any one side of a traveling assumed direction of the railway vehicle and an orthogonal direction orthogonal to a vertical direction or in a downward arrangement direction with respect to the wind receiving part while being jointed to the wind receiving part. In both end parts of the traveling assumed direction, one end part closer to a center part of the wind receiving part is a first end part and the other end part opposite to the first end part is a second end part. The pair of flange parts respectively extend toward the arrangement direction from the second end part of the pair of air introducing guides.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】受風部に対して走行風を効果的に供給し、受風部の冷却性能及び強度を確保できる電力変換装置を提供することである。【解決手段】実施形態の電力変換装置は、半導体素子と、受風部と、一対の導風ガイドと、一対の鍔部と、を持つ。前記半導体素子は、鉄道車両を駆動する電力を出力可能である。前記受風部は、前記半導体素子に接続されている。前記一対の導風ガイドは、前記受風部に対して、前記鉄道車両の走行想定方向及び上下方向に直交する直交方向のいずれか一方側、又は下方である配置向きに前記受風部に接合した状態で配置されるとともに、前記走行想定方向の両端部のうち、前記受風部の中央部寄りの端部を第1端部とし、前記第1端部とは反対側の端部を第2端部とする。前記一対の鍔部は、前記一対の導風ガイドの前記第2端部から前記配置向きに向かってそれぞれ延びる。【選択図】図2
