To provide a railway vehicle vibration damping apparatus which can realize improved mountability on a railway vehicle and reduced cost.SOLUTION: A railway vehicle vibration damping apparatus D1 in this invention comprises a cylindrical member 2 coupled with a vehicle body B of the railway vehicle, a rod 4 whose one end is coupled with a truck T of the vehicle and the other end is movably inserted in the cylindrical member 2 and a truck side acceleration sensor 30 which is mounted on the rod 4 and detects the acceleration of the truck T and a signal line L1 of the truck side acceleration sensor 30 is held by the cylindrical member 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
