To provide a rubber composition for tires which has high tensile elongation at break and excellent adhesiveness to a metal member, and to provide a cobalt compound blended therein.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires contains, based on 100 pts.mass of a diene rubber containing 50 pts.mass or more of a natural rubber, 40-70 pts.mass of carbon black having an iodine adsorption of 70-130 g/kg, 4-10 pts.mass of sulfur, and 0.05-0.5 pt.mass in terms of cobalt of a cobalt compound represented by general formula (1) (where R1 is a hydroxyl group or a C1-6 alkyl or alkoxy group; R2 is a C7-19 aliphatic group; and n is an integer of 2-4).SELECTED DRAWING: None

    【課題】高い引張り破断伸びを有し、金属部材との接着性に優れるタイヤ用ゴム組成物と、それに配合されるコバルト化合物を提供する。【解決手段】天然ゴム50質量部以上を含むジエン系ゴム100質量部に対し、沃素吸着量が70g/kg〜130g/kgであるカーボンブラックを40質量部〜70質量部、硫黄を4質量部〜10質量部、下記一般式(1)で表されるコバルト化合物をコバルト換算で0.05質量部〜0.5質量部配合する。(式中、R1はヒドロキシル基、炭素数1〜6のアルキル基またはアルコキシ基であり、R2は炭素数7〜19の脂肪族基であり、nは2〜4の整数である。)【選択図】なし
