To provide a body condition abnormality detection system and a body condition abnormality detection method, capable of suitably detecting body condition abnormality of occupants including a driver and an occupant other than the driver regardless of aspects of riding (the occupants' postures, riding positions, and the like).SOLUTION: A body condition abnormality detection system 1 uses an electronic control unit (EUC 30) for a vehicle 10 and a capsule-type endoscope 25 taken by an occupant P of the vehicle 10 and is suitable for detecting body condition abnormality of the occupant P. The EUC 30 comprises: an image data reception unit 32 for receiving image data D from the capsule-type endoscope 25; and a body condition abnormality detection unit 33 for detecting body condition abnormality of the occupant P taking the capsule-type endoscope 25 on the basis of the received image data D.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
