To easily detect the presence or absence of break in a wiring for driving an illuminator even in a case of using a plurality of illuminators to share and illuminate an area in front of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle front lighting device includes an illuminator array in which a plurality of illuminators are connected in series and a switch element that performs control for each of the illuminators whether to turn on the illuminator, and a voltage value to be applied is controlled such that a current value flowing to an illuminator array becomes a target current value. Then, a timing to turn on and off the illuminator is set according to the illumination intensity required by illuminator, but the timing to turn off the illuminator is corrected not to be close to the timing to turn on the other illuminators. Then, the presence or absence of the disconnection is determined by determining whether the number of illuminators to be lit matches the applied voltage value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13

    【課題】複数の照明器を用いて車両の前方の領域を分担して照明する場合でも、照明器を駆動するための配線での断線有無を容易に検出する。【解決手段】複数の照明器が直列に接続された照明器アレイと、各々の照明器を点灯させるか否かを照明器毎に制御するスイッチ素子とを備えており、照明器アレイに流れる電流値が目標電流値となるように、印加する電圧値を制御する。そして、照明器を点灯および消灯させるタイミングは各照明器で必要な照明強度に応じて設定するが、消灯させるタイミングは他の照明器を点灯させるタイミングの近くとならないように消灯のタイミングを修正する。そして、点灯させようとした照明器の数と、印加した電圧値とが整合するか否かを判断することによって、断線の有無を判断する。【選択図】図13
