To surely limit an energization to an electric motor when an inclination angle of an outboard engine body cannot be substantially changed due to a large load to tilt an outboard engine body.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 2 includes an electric motor M1, a PTT mechanism 9, an inclination angle sensor 37 and an ECU 20. The PTT mechanism 9 operates and can vertically rotates the outboard engine body when the electric motor M1 is energized. The inclination angle sensor 37 detects the inclination angle of the outboard engine body. The ECU 20 energizes the electric motor M1 in response to the PTT operation switch 14 and causes to operate the PTT mechanism 9. The ECU 20 limits the energization to the electric motor M1 when the rate of the change of the inclination angle detected by the inclination angle sensor 37 is less than a prescribed decision threshold over a prescribed duration determination time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】船外機本体を傾斜させるための負荷が大きく、船外機本体の傾斜角を実質的に変化させることができないときに、電動モータへの通電を確実に制限する。【解決手段】船外機2は、電動モータM1と、PTT機構9と、傾斜角センサ37と、ECU20とを含む。電動モータM1に通電すると、PTT機構9が作動して、船外機本体を上下に回動させることができる。傾斜角センサ37は、船外機本体の傾斜角を検出する。ECU20は、PTT操作スイッチ14に応答して電動モータM1に通電してPTT機構9を作動させる。ECU20は、傾斜角センサ37が検出する傾斜角の変化率の大きさが所定の継続判定時間にわたって所定の判定閾値以下であると、電動モータM1への通電を制限する。【選択図】図6
