To provide a novel electric drive unit including a heat dissipation structure of simple configuration, by restraining up-sizing of an electric drive unit, consisting of electronic control means having a redundant system and an integrated electric motor part, in the radial direction, and decreasing the number of components as much as possible, and to provide an electric power steering device.SOLUTION: A heat dissipation base body 23 elongating in the rotation axis direction near the revolving shaft 50 of an electric motor is provided adjacently to the electric motor part EM, the substrate 24 of one electronic control means of a redundant system is fixed to the heat dissipation base body 23 so as to be able to transfer heat in the elongation direction thereof, the substrate 26 of the other electronic control means is fixed to the heat dissipation base body 23 so as to be able to transfer heat, and to oppose the substrate 24 of one electronic control means, and heat from the substrates 24, 26 of respective electronic control means is dissipated to the motor housing 20 via the heat dissipation base body 23. Since compaction can be achieved by reducing the radial size, and heat is released to the housing of the electric motor part via the heat dissipation base body, heat from the substrates can be dissipated efficiently to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】冗長系を備える電子制御手段と一体化された電動モータ部よりなる電動駆動装置が半径方向に大型化するのを抑制すると共に、できるだけ部品点数を少なくして構成が簡単な放熱構造を備える新規な電動駆動装置及び電動パワーステアリング装置を提供することにある。【解決手段】電動モータ部EMに隣接して電動モータの回転軸50付近で回転軸方向に延びる放熱基体23を設け、放熱基体23が延びる方向に沿って冗長系の一方の電子制御手段の基板24を熱移動可能に放熱基体23に固定し、一方の電子制御手段の基板24に向かい合うようにして、他方の電子制御手段の基板26を熱移動可能に放熱基体23に固定し、夫々の電子制御手段の基板24、26からの熱を放熱基体23を介してモータハウジング20に放熱する。半径方向の大きさを縮小して小型化することができ、更に、放熱基体を介して電動モータ部のハウジングに放熱されるので、基板からの熱を効率よく外部に放熱することができる。【選択図】図3
