To provide a radar device and a method for detecting a target that can detect a moving direction of a target in a short time without detecting a change of the position of the object.SOLUTION: The radar device includes: a transmission unit for transmitting a transmission wave based on a transmitter signal to a target; a reception unit for receiving a reflection wave generated by reflection of the transmission wave by the target and generating a reception signal; and a target detection unit for acquiring information on the target based on the transmitter signal and the reception signal. The target detection unit calculates, for each of the detection points in the same target, an azimuth φ and a rate component V(φ), the azimuth showing the direction of a detection point with respect to the radar device and the rate component being the rate component of the relative rate A of the target which is along the direction. The target detection unit also obtains the relational expression of the azimuth φ and the rate component V(φ) and determines the movement angle θ(=π/2-φ), which shows the moving direction of the object from the azimuth φ when V(φ)=0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】物標の位置の変化を検出することなく、短時間で物標の移動方向を検出できるレーダー装置及び物標検出方法を提供する。【解決手段】レーダー装置は、送信信号に基づく送信波を物標に向けて送信する送信部と、送信波が前記物標で反射して生じる反射波を受信して受信信号を生成する受信部と、送信信号及び受信信号に基づいて物標に関する情報を取得する物標検出部と、を備える。物標検出部は、同一物標内の複数の検出点のそれぞれについて、当該レーダー装置に対する検出点の方位を示す方位角φと、物標の相対速度Aの前記方位に沿う速度成分V(φ)を算出し、方位角φと前記速度成分V(φ)の関係式を求め、V(φ)=0となるときの方位角φから物標の移動方向を示す移動角θ(=π/2−φ)を求める。【選択図】図2
