To provide a damper gear which can reliably absorb impact by an impact absorber even if forward and reverse excessive impact loads are inputted to a shaft, and a steering device with use of such a damper gear.SOLUTION: An impact absorption member 53b of a damper gear 50 is moved integrally with a cylindrical part 531 in an axial direction when a magnitude of a relative load to the cylindrical part 531 is less than a specified value Fs. Further, the impact absorption member is fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 531 so that at least a part thereof is moved relatively to the cylindrical part 531 while sliding when the magnitude is the specified value Fs or more. A housing 52 comprises a stop surface 522 with which the cylindrical part 531, which has been moved integrally with the impact absorption member 53b can contact. The specified value Fs is so set as to be a compression load F of an elastic body 53c or more at a time when the impact absorption member 53b is moved integrally with a stem 53a in an axial direction and the cylindrical part 531 contacts the stop surface 522.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
