To provide a vehicular brake device capable of operating a pump while avoiding lock of a motor even if a failure occurs in an adjustment mechanism of a driving amount of a piston.SOLUTION: A vehicular brake device includes: a piston drive section 4 which has an adjustment mechanism 40 for adjusting a driving amount of pistons 14 and 15 sliding in a master cylinder 1; a piston control section 61 which controls the adjustment mechanism 40 according to an operation amount of a brake operation member 10; and a pump 57 which discharges brake fluid in a wheel cylinder. The vehicular brake device functions even if the piston drive section 4 is not operated. The vehicular brake device further includes: a maximum output determination section 62 which determines a maximum value of an output fluid pressure of the master cylinder 1 and a piston drive limit section 63 which limits the driving amount of the pistons 14 and 15 to a specified value or less on the basis of the maximum value of the output fluid pressure when the operation amount of the brake operation member 10 becomes a prescribed value or more under the circumstance that the brake fluid is discharged by the pump 57.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ピストンの駆動量の調整機構に故障が生じたとしても、モータのロックを回避しつつポンプを作動させることができる車両用制動装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、マスタシリンダ1内を摺動するピストン14、15の駆動量を調整する調整機構40を有するピストン駆動部4と、ブレーキ操作部材10の操作量に応じて調整機構40を制御するピストン制御部61と、ホイールシリンダ内のブレーキ液を吐出するポンプ57と、を備え、ピストン駆動部4が作動しなくても機能する車両用制動装置であって、マスタシリンダ1の出力液圧の最大値を決定する最大出力決定部62と、ポンプ57によるブレーキ液の吐出が行われている状況下でブレーキ操作部材10の操作量が所定値以上となった場合、出力液圧の最大値に基づきピストン14、15の駆動量を規定値以下に制限するピストン駆動制限部63と、を備える。【選択図】図1
