To provide a park lock device for a transmission which has a compact structure, and can reduce necessary force applied for causing rotations of a cam without requiring the use of a spring for moving an inclination lever to a releasing position.SOLUTION: A control unit is equipped with a cam 28. The cam has a first side surface portion which is attached so as to rotate about a second rotary shaft parallel with a first rotary shaft, and configured to cooperate with a first cam follower 32 provided on an inclination lever 18; and a second side surface portion which is configured to cooperate with a second cam follower 34 provided on the inclination lever. In a first rotating direction, the inclination lever is inclined from a releasing position to an engaging position, and in a second rotating direction opposite to the first rotating direction, the inclination lever is inclined from the engaging position to the releasing position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
