To provide an own vehicle position estimation device capable of improving accuracy in estimating an own vehicle position on a map of the own vehicle.SOLUTION: An own vehicle position estimation device 100 detects targets whose positions on a map are predetermined by an external sensor 2 and uses the targets in estimating an own vehicle position being a position on a map of the own vehicle. The own vehicle position estimation device 100 includes: a detection target database 5A for storing detection target information obtained by associating positions of targets on a map with a detectable area of the targets; a measurement position acquisition unit 11 for acquiring a measurement position being a position of an own vehicle on a map, that is measured by an on-vehicle GPS reception unit 1; a candidate target recognition unit 13A for recognizing candidate targets associated with a detectable area including a measurement position among the targets on the basis of a detectable area in detection target information and a measurement position; and an own vehicle position estimation unit 14 for estimating an own vehicle position on the basis of positions of candidate targets on a map and a detection result of the external sensor 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
