To provide a lane change information providing device and a lane change information providing method that make it possible to change lanes appropriately even during driving on the road highly difficult to drive on.SOLUTION: A route guiding device 100 comprises: a route searching unit 11 for searching a to-be-guided route; a limited speed acquisition unit 12 for acquiring a limited speed of a road leading to a guide point along on the to-be-guided route searched by the route searching unit 11; and a route guiding unit 13 for performing the guidance of the lane change in which it is recommended to carry out before arriving at the guide point at an earlier timing while the limited speed acquired by the limited speed acquisition unit 12 is lower; whereby, during the guidance to the to-be-guided route, the guidance related to the lane change is performed at an earlier timing while the limited speed of the road is lower on the road leading to the guide point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
