To provide a technique that appropriately controls a communication unit of a mobile terminal and makes it possible to perform communication connection with a vehicle apparatus.SOLUTION: A mobile terminal is provided so as to be able to communicate with a vehicle apparatus that detects an event including a collision. The mobile terminal includes a communication unit for communicating with the vehicle apparatus, a control unit for controlling on or off of a communication function of the communication unit, and a sensor unit for monitoring movement of the vehicle when it is brought into the vehicle mounted with the vehicle apparatus. The control unit performs processing for turning on the communication function and communicating with the vehicle apparatus on the basis of information from the sensor unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
