To provide a beveling method for an iron round pipe material for a headrest stay, which prevents a plating solution from seeping from inside the iron round pipe material, resulting in a defective product, and which prevents occurrence of a defective product resulting from buckling deformation.SOLUTION: An iron round pipe material 21 is processed such that the thickness of a thin wall part 21a gradually increases inwards from an end face of the pipe material 21. The thickness of an inner side of the thin wall part 21a is greater than the thickness of the leading end thereof and the stiffness of the thin wall part 21a is increased, Therefore, when the thin wall part 21a is inserted into a die 20 and pressed against the bottom face of the cavity 20a of the die 20, the thin wall part 21a is made less likely to cause buckling deformation, making it possible to prevent occurrence of a defective product resulting from buckling deformation. Since buckling deformation is made less likely to occur, the thin wall part 21a can be firmly pressed against the bottom face of the cavity 20a of the die 20 until the end comes into face-contact with it. By virtue of this, formation of a hole in the end of the iron round pipe material 21 is prevented, making it possible to prevent a plating solution from seeping into the iron round pipe material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】鉄製丸パイプ材の内部から鍍金液がしみ出て不良品となったり、座屈変形で不良品が発生するのを防止できるヘッドレストステー用の鉄製丸パイプ材の面取り加工を提供すること。【解決手段】薄肉部21aの厚みが鉄製丸パイプ材21の端面から奥側へと漸増するように加工する。薄肉部21aの奥側の厚みが先端部の厚みより大きく、薄肉部21aの腰が強くなるので、金型20に薄肉部21aを挿入して金型20のキャビティー20aの底面に押し付けるとき、薄肉部21aに座屈変形が生じ難くなり、座屈変形による不良品の発生を防止できる。座屈変形しにくいので、端部が面接触するまで薄肉部21aを金型20のキャビティー20aの底面に強く押し付けることができる。そのため鉄製丸パイプ材21の端部に穴が生じないので、鍍金液が鉄製丸パイプ材21の内部に浸透するのを防止できる。【選択図】図2
