To provide a headrest stay of which a strength is improved and weight saving is achieved.SOLUTION: One metallic pipe is bent into a substantially U shape. This headrest stay comprises a pair of legs, and a bridge part which connects upper ends of these legs to each other. A bent part is formed between these lags and the bridge part. A cross section of the bent part is an elliptical shape, and a long axis thereof extends in a cross direction of a seat. By changing a cross-sectional shape of a stress concentration portion due to an external force acting on the headrest stay, a strength of the headrest stay is increased compared to a complete round cross-sectional shape. As a result, a wall thickness can be reduced, and weight saving can be achieved. This also causes cost reduction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】強度が向上し、軽量化を達成したヘッドレストスティを提供する。【解決手段】1本の金属製パイプを大略コの字形状に屈曲する。一対の脚部と、これらの脚部の上端同士を連結するブリッジ部とを備える。これらの脚部とブリッジ部との間に屈曲部分が形成される。その屈曲部分の断面が長円形で、その長軸がシートの前後方向に延びるように設ける。ヘッドレストスティに作用する外力による応力集中部分について断面形状の変更により(断面真円の場合よりも)強度がアップした。その結果、肉厚を低減でき、軽量化を達成できる。コストダウンにもつながる。【選択図】図1
