PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backward parking assistance device for a connected vehicle, which is able to calculate a path to a target position by restricting an increase in amount of calculation.SOLUTION: A backward parking assistance device for a connected vehicle comprises: a potential-field formation unit 32 that forms a potential field indicating the possibility of contact of a target object with the connected vehicle; a storage unit 37 that stores a plurality of parameters relating to a change rate of a steering angle of the connected vehicle in each section and a plurality of parameters relating to a backward movement distance in each section, for the plurality of sections of a path planning model; a path candidate formation unit 33 that forms combinations of the parameter relating to the change rate of the steering angle and the parameter relating to the backward movement distance, thereby forming a plurality of parking target path candidates from an own vehicle position to a parking target position; an evaluation unit 34 that calculates potential values for the plurality of parking target path candidates on the basis of the potential field; and a path selection unit that selects, as a parking target path, the parking target path candidate whose potential value is low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
